This series is restricted to Graduate Students, Research Scholars and Faculty. Registration is by invitation only.

Sonja West is the Brumby Distinguished Professor in First Amendment Law at the University of Georgia School of Law, a post shared with the Grady College of Journalism. She is also serving as a Senior Visiting Research Scholar at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University. Her scholarship focuses on issues involving legal rights and protections for the freedom of the press and has appeared in top legal journals such as Harvard Law ReviewUCLA Law Review, and Northwestern Law Review. Professor West has provided legal commentary to numerous national news organizations, including The New York TimesThe Washington PostThe Wall Street JournalThe EconomistSlate, MSNBC, and National Public Radio. She is a former journalist, First Amendment lawyer, and law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
